rubber stamping, collage, mixed media & altered art

Saturday, September 24, 2005 - Mile High Book Arts meeting

Well, that was a blast! I met the MHBA ladies and had a fabulous time. We embossed HVAC metal tape using all sorts of textured items (s sundial, stamps, rubbing plates from an old kids’ toy, Fiskars texture plates, screening, and more). I also learned how to use this thing called a Wizard which will be fabulous for both embossing and for die cutting, but is rather expensive.\

I finished covering an altered book with all different textured tape pieces and then colored with alcohol inks. I like the alcohol ink color Darcy used on her book, though, and will probably recolor mine.

Had a great time and I don’t know why I was so nervous. Before I went home, I also stopped at Archiver’s, because I’d never seen one and there was one nearby. my goodness, that was fun!

Wednesday, September 21, 2005 - birthday cards!

Somehow, I got on a roll and finished making a set of thank you cards AND made 5 birthday cards, mostly for belated birthdays. Not posting them here because most of the recipients may be reading this.

Saturday, September 17, 2005 - Last Beautiful Girl

Finally finished the canvas, by covering with chicken wire and adding a caption with scrapbooking moulding strips and dymo tape. the canvas uses the peeling paint technique, encaustics and crayon wax, collage, some glittery jewels and distressing techniques. 8×10

Saturday, September 10, 2005 - canvas and AB

Worked more on a canvas - collage and encaustics and crayon wax and figured out what the final part would be (went to ACE hardware for that) and will finish tomorrow, hopefully.

Also worked on an AB spread in the book for Alli — will be a project for the december issue of PCM, so I can’t post here.

I feel good. Out of breath and excited, but really good. Need more play days.
