Tomorrow, a new show is going on display at The Artists’ Nook here in Fort Collins, CO. Christine Webb, the owner, issued a challenge for everybody to alter a plastic torso, salvaged from Sam’s Club. I’ve been having some health issues, lately, so my idea didn’t take much time to form. Here’s the piece I entered and which will be on display throughout August. Every time I look at it, I get a jolt, though. It’s very upsetting and positive all at the same time. How did I do that?
ETA: I forgot to mention that the words are a bit from a song from one of my favorite bands, Poi Dog Pondering.
It’s a very strong, emotional piece. I think it came from a confluence of your body, your heart, your soul, and your intellect. Extremely powerful.
